Heaven’s Kitchen

Description

Cooking is grounding and therapeutic for me. It makes me feel connected to the earth where our food comes from and to the human body that I am nourishing.

Ayurveda views food as medicine and has general guidelines on the foods to prioritize in each season and food combinations to avoid (Viruddha Ahara). When certain foods are combined, it can prevent tissues from forming properly and cause metabolic toxins (ama) to form. An example of this is the combination of sour fruits and dairy. You can imagine how this would curdle in the stomach and prevent the nutrients of the food from being absorbed.

Furthermore, Ayurveda has clearly explained dietary guidelines on the foods that each person should eat and/or avoid based on their natural constitution and imbalances. There are also so many herbal teas that provide energy and improve metabolism that I am excited to share as well!
